Day 5: Racing rain

Woke up early to wet windows and streets. The rain had finally caught up with me. Checking the weather, I realized I had enough time to reach my next destination before the skies opened up again. If everything had gone according to plan yesterday, I would’ve just dodged the rain. But now, I was just sitting, waiting for it to start. I’ve got all the rain gear, but honestly, I’d rather not use it.

The day unfolded quite well, all things considered. I even caught some sunshine along the way. I reached my destination with time to spare, which let me wash up and give my bike some TLC, my chain was practically begging for oil by screaming for last few kilometers. I spent the rest of the afternoon playing tourist, mostly on a quest for some decent bite.

The forecast threatened more rain, so I hurried back to take cover, narrowly missing the downpour. I’ve prepped the routes for tomorrow, but the forecast isn’t looking too sunny, rain in the afternoon but a clear morning. Well, let’s see what happens. Tomorrow could be a weather turning point, possibly the last rain. If it’s more than a drizzle, I might just split the day’s ride in half.
