One day or day one

To cut short, i would say very boring long day. However, there is so much more to it.

Mornings aren’t my forte. It took me almost two hours to muster the energy to actually start biking, before that, I was going at a sluggish pace. Due to that I instantly started worrying that I will not make it in time or that i will have to change plan of leaving Denmark on day one. It did come close to it.

As a newcomer to multi-day bike trips with a fully loaded setup, I couldn’t shake off concerns about the compatibility of my road bike with all the extra gear. While others might claim and see it differently, I know my bike is optimized for speed, and not this. Yet, despite these reservations, the initial stretch through Denmark and Germany presented no issues. Surprisingly, the bags held steady, alleviating some of my worries, at least for the time being.

Amidst the monotony of the road, a beacon of fun emerges: wrestling with the all the options of my Garmin Edge, a gadget so delightful I’d would almost recommend.

But back on the road, navigating the winding paths of Germany, I encountered the mild chaos of bridge crossings and the quest for mysterious shuttle bus with a bicycle trailer. It was just a bus with a trailer, nothing more, nothing less. Took a ride over the bridge and continued to the first hotel. Despite the few small hurdles, I feel ready for the journey ahead.

As for today’s scenery review: Denmark, a canvas of flat fields. Germany, a mirror image of monotony. Perhaps tomorrow will unveil moments worthy of sharing, if laziness doesn’t prevail.

And just to add some drama to the day, a new sound decided to join the symphony of the road, a peculiar noise emitting from around my pedals, after a mere 130 kilometers into the journey. But like any good protagonist, I’ve chosen to ignore it and simply labeled it as background ambiance for now. After all, what’s an adventure without a few quirky tunes along the way?
